    The University of North Georgia – Gainesville campus is excited to host the 2026 Georgia High School Ceramic Arts Awards & Symposium!
     

    Symposium & Awards Schedule

    8:30am - 10:00am

    • Registration & Check-in (Please note: Participants under 18 must come with a parent or guardian for the duration of the event)
    • College Information Tables (Art lounge)
    • View Student Exhibition – (John Amoss Student Gallery room 1905)
    • View Instructor Exhibition – (John Amoss Student Gallery room 1905)
    • Obvara firing – no glazing necessary – Angel Estrella (outdoor patio 2205)
    • Glazing raku pots (Ceramics 2209 – inside of room 2205)

    12:15 – 12:45 Lunch and packing up exhibition work


    Students who plan to participate in either Obvara, Raku, or firings are responsible for:

    • Bringing one piece of bisqueware that doesn’t exceed 6 inches in any dimension
    • For Obvara firing, promptly loading your piece at 8:30 am.
    • For Raku pieces only - Glazing the piece the morning of the symposium between 8:30-9:30 am.

    Important Information: The University of North Georgia is not responsible for supervising any minors attending this program. All minors must remain under the care and supervision of a parent or guardian at all times while on University property.
